Free Frailty Education Day for Nurses (LTHT Nurses only)

This is a free one day course only available to nursing staff at LTHT. It will be particularly applicable to nurses working on wards looking after a high proportion of older people with frailty. Whilst it may particularly be suitable for band 6 and 7 nurses looking to further their knowledge, it is open to all who wish to learn about the following topics. This day is delivered by Consultant Geriatrician Sean Ninan, Lead Nurse for Older People Alison Raycraft and our Continence Promotion team

The two day course has a greater breadth and depth and should be considered for those who wish to cover even more.

2. What is Comprehensive geriatric assessment and how do nurses contribute to this?

3. Dementia - how it is diagnosed and managed. How to deal with behaviours that challenge. How best to communicate and rehabilitate

4. Delirium - assessment, prevention and management

7. Community Services

8. Assessing capacity
